Tokyo, Japan – April 16, 2025 – Taisu Ventures is proud to share highlights from RWA Tokenization and the Future of Finance, an exclusive side event co-hosted with EMURGO during TEAMZ Web3/AI Summit 2025 week. Held at The Tokyo Edition Toranomon, the event brought together 80 key players from traditional finance, fintech, and Web3 sectors to explore the future of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.
Event Overview
This year’s event featured a streamlined format focused on actionable insights and meaningful connections. Attendees included leading investors, builders and ecosystem players in the Web3 space. After opening remarks by Ken Kodama, Founder of EMURGO, and a keynote speech by Takashi Hayashida, Managing Director at Taisu Ventures, the evening featured two thought leadership panels:
Panel 1: The Institutional Race for Tokenized Assets: Opportunities & Challenges
Moderated by Nathaniel Acton (EMURGO), the first panel featured Phillip Pon (EMURGO), Chris Lane (Kinka Gold), Navjit Dhaliwal (Iagon), and Masa Kikuchi (Secured Finance).
The discussion provided insightful perspectives on why private credit is a promising use case for tokenization, common misconceptions about tokenized RWAs, and the current pace of institutional adoption. Speakers also explored how smart contracts can manage the complexity of large-scale asset transactions, the balance between transparency and investor privacy, and where real momentum is building within tokenized private markets today.
Panel 2: Product Market Fit for Stablecoins: Is This Cycle the Turning Point?
Moderated by Raphael Ng (Taisu Ventures), the second panel included Jeremy Ng (OpenEden), Jitendra Jaitawat (Helix), Chris Lane (Kinka), Chung Ying Lai (Seaseed Network), and Qin En (Saison Capital).
The discussion offered valuable insights into public perceptions of stablecoins, the broader utility of stablecoins beyond DeFi, and the potential of yield-bearing stablecoins for passive income. The panelists examined the barriers to stablecoin adoption in traditional business settings, regulatory considerations, and strategies for achieving mass adoption over the coming years. It was a candid and forward-looking discussion on how stablecoins are evolving from niche tools to critical infrastructure for the next wave of global finance.
Networking and Collaboration
The evening closed with a networking session over cocktails and light canapés, allowing guests to continue conversations and build strategic partnerships across the RWA and Web3 sectors.
